Drying time for turpanoid

How long should it take for turpanoid or paint thinner to dry after a wash. I am very leary of using it after a wash on a fighter took over 2 months to dry and looked awful. I am very unsure what I did wrong but I surely dont want to do it again.

I like to use Humbrol thinner and Winsor and Newton oils for my washes and the thinner dries very quickly, overnight is plenty of time. I like this thinner because it is quite mild, evapourates quickly and I feel it has a lower surface tension and better capillary action than Turpenoid or Turps, this helps it run into all the recessed detail easier. Apparently Ronsonol lighter fluid is even better but I haven’t tried it personally.
