Ok when I dry brush Im typically just using a metal color to lightly highlight some raised detail…
However on this plane Im doing the cockpit is a very dark grey but not quite black color and the silver really isnt showing up well in the light. Could I try to use another color? IF so what would you recommend?
Maybe white?
Thanks
When I drybrush, I mix a little black enamel with artist’s Titanium White oil paint. The slower drying time of the oil paint allows the drybrushing to be “worked in” for a smooth highlighting effect. You can apply successive coats, sach a little lighter, to create something that is not “stark” or too “contrasty.” Hope this helps.
Give it a light black wash to highlight corners and crevices too. the wash will create the backround so that silver will show better.
