Dropbox link test

If you use Dropbox to store and link images here in the forum, won’t you have to give other members access and/or won’t they need to have a Dropbox login themselves, to see your image?

I clicked on the link to see the image, right clicked on it and clicked copy image address. I then added the BBCODE image tags (no space) [ I M G ][ / I M G ] and it seems to work albiet that is one ugly image address. I do not have a dropbox account BTW

This link worked for me,not the 1st,I have my own Drop box account don’t know if that matters.

But when I post pics,I don’t want viewers to see a link I want the picture to come up can that be done ?

Going to try to use the BBCODE image tags

another try with BBCODE - the firstone didn’t work at all - link has been shared tho

trying just the shared link:

I’ve given up on using dropbox - likely just user error i suspect. I’ve deleted the photos from the links that did work (they won’t work anymore) and will shop for another photo sharing solution - thanks! I too want to be able to have the actual image rendered and not a passive link. Maybe next time. [8-)]

I’ve used imgur.com for years. Pretty easy - app on the phone, easy upload, easy links.

Take a look at Postimage, pretty simple and free.

Giving an old Flickr account a try

Yeah, I know that Dropbox is a service to share files, but I don’t know how well it would work as a place to host images. It seems to me that the file storage limits they offer till you have to pay are relatively low, compared to sites that more specifically offer image hosting.

I use Postimage, by the way. I have a free account, but it’s limited as far as file size goes. When I fill that up, I’ll think about subscribing.

Your first Flickr link works, by the way. Your second one doesn’t (as of now).

SmugMug - do I have to have all the details correct to make an image appear?

Insert Image:

  1. Source - does this need to be the hosting URL of the photo in question? Are there any sharing details that need to be set before this can actually be used for FSM to preload the image?

  2. Image description - this is just a text label right?

  3. Dimensions - do I need to put in the exact pixel counts for the image here as it is in the hosting site? Can’t the FSM site calculate that? Is there a limit that we need to adhere to?

will it work?:
