Dremel query - urgent!

Hi, all.
A really basic question: How do you use the sanding bits for a Dremel? I slip them onto the rubber cylinder, but they don’t grip it at all, and when they come into contact with the object to be sanded, they simply spin around.
Greatly appreciate any help!

Does the sanding drum mandrel have a screw head on the end of it?
Normally with the Dremel drum sander mandrel, there’s a little slotted screw on the end of it, and when you put the sanding drum on the mandrel, tighten the screw, and the rubber mandrel expands, trapping the drum and making it impossible to get off without undoing the screw. Without tightening up the screw, theres no friction at all between the rubber and the drum, so it’ll never be able to be used correctly.

Yep, leetree’s got it. You have to tighten the screw on the end and it will tighten it up. If there’s no screw in the end… your screwed…???

Glad you’ve got it in hand, mate.
Remember, if you don’t ask, you might never find out…

If you havent got a screw in the end to tighten up, try a thin smear of the old common black silicon gasket stuff. Once its dry it should hold nicely, when the drum has had the “richard”. Slit the drum and peel it off and the silicon will simply peel off ready for a new sanding drum.
Hope this Helps
