Dream Tools

A home photoetching setup.

For all of you wanting a spray booth, Harbor Freight Tools has a nice little unit that goes for around $60 - $70. I couldn’t find it on their website, but I know the local HFT has one on the shelf.

Im with the photo etch guys. Im always finding stuff Id like to be photo etch but thye dont make it. Yep, thats what I want, my own photo etching lab…and the bill payer offer too

I will also go along with a spraybooth for inside. I have a large homemade one for in the garage.

Kinda limits my painting in the winter since the garage is not heated [:(]

My current list is a mini mill, a mini lathe, an Etchemate, both sets of Waldron punches, and what the heck I’ll join the mob and wish for a paint booth as well. [:D]

ive been lucky,worked in a machine shop for almost 20 yrs and do a lot of turning and making parts here at work, we also have a spray booth and a secret hiding place for all my parts till there done, it would make it handyer if i had all this at home, but you cant look your gift horse in the mouth.

Perhaps you could modify one of those wheels that clay artists mold pottery on–I think they’re called “potter’s wheels” if I’m not mistaken.

I’d just go for a nice uncluttered room to work in. After that, the PE lab would be wonderful. Then the ducted spray booth.

hallo…cant help myself to add somthing…
i made my self a spary booth using 8 in ventilation fan… make a box with ply wood…and top light …walla…a cheap spray booth… it cost me around US40

I want a CNC machine that makes dream tools.

-and a tiny metal detector that could find photoetched parts in beige, shag carpet.

-fish

Just a thought for those of you contemplating building a ducted spray booth. I have a friend who used a stove rangehood, it even has built in lights!

The range hood was on sale so it all worked out quite cheap.

my dream imaginary tools would be a laser beam tool that has variable spot width that can drill, cut and scribe at will …lol

I’m going to order one of those laser thingys right after my official Star Trek replicator gets here. While examining my freshly materialized 1/72 fully functional DB605 engine, I could say “Earl Gray, Hot” LOL [:p][:D]

Woody, been sniffin’ those Earl Grey" fumes again, haven’t ya? [:D] Everyone knows that you have to install the Stargate first to avoid those nasty shipping charges from out of town; THEN you order the replicator. [:D]

OK you caught me! [:I] I’ve been putting a little Romulan ale in my Earl Grey, but just a wee dram. [:p]

Got the spray both and both single and double action airbrushes - now I lust after the Waldron punches and photo- etch bending tool.
Will probably take the advice my flight instructer gave me when I first started to fly, “Treat it like having kids - if you wait til you can afford them, you’ll never have them”. [:p]

[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]You mean I have to pick one tool?..

Geesh I’ll take one of everything all ready mentioned and 2 of the good stuff! SO I have an extra and dont have to buy another or wait till I move to find the one I lost.
Ever hear of anyone loosing a Generator? Yeah my wife couldnt believe it either[:0]…Hey I figured it would be a good idea to stuff the Honda EU in the trunk of the “project car” in the garage at the time[:)]…Needless to say I found it…now if I could just find the other items that are “lost”![:(!]

Chris

I would like an air conditioned shop. I currently have a shop in the garage. I gets real hot in Arizona in the summer. Makes it very difficult to do anything anywhere here in the summer. (winter is a different story)

For those of you who wish to have a spray both I have an idea for you. I built one from an old stove vent hood w/ exhaust fan. The booth itself was made from a cardboard box. Just a thought.

One of my dream tools arrived today - a Clisby miniature lathe. It’s a neat little machine, looks to be of very good quality. [8D]

Ok lets see:

Sculpting tools (2 sets) = Check
Razor Saws = Check.
Motor tool+ Flex shaft + Stand = Check
Compressor x2 = Check
Aibrush x4 = Check
Spraybooth = Check
Drying Booth = Check
Modella = WANTED
Picza = WANTED

Guess I will need another 2.500USD to finish my collecton off. [:D]
