Dragon Wagon Update Pics

Just in case any of you thought that maybe this project got shoved to the backburner. Here’s a couple of quick pics to assure you that I have been working on it in my usual snail’s pace for finishing. [:p]

At this point, the entire kit has been drybrushed and then burnished with pencil lead. The next step will be to make this beast dirty. The M36 B1 that will be the load for this project is at about the same point in it’s construction.

The winch assembly drybrushed and burnished before placement on the chassis.

Overall shot, the kit is over 20" long.

The trailer

A couple more weeks and this one should be ready for the shelf. [:D]

As I said before, Robert, you never cease to amaze with your incredible builds. Great job! This one is definately worht the extra time.

It’s so…olive drab [:D] Looking real good Robert. I think the winch cables look especially good!

Btw, your trailer looks a lot like a winch too! [;)] Good camo!! [}:)] [:D]

Oops … forgot to change one of the links … all corrected now. [:I]

Beeautifuuuul, Robert

If you get tired of looking at it, I have the right place to show it of…my place. LOL

Looking forward to seing the final product, including the load (change of heart, you’re not going to put a Panther on it now? [;)])

Looking real good Robert. Can’t wait to see the finished model.

[:0] I normally build sci-fi and I’m just getting started in armor and that build is AMAZING! I hate to sound like a fanboy because I’m sure you guys get to see a lot of great builds but every time I see you guys work I’m speechless. I’m, glad I found this site you leave me much to aspire to. i can make a “show room” model that looks like it just roled off the line but you guys build stuff that looks like it rolled off “the front line” [a much bigger challenge]. I can’t wait to try some experiments with pencil lead.

Looking great Robert. I guess you do something besides hang out here [;)]. Every time you show that monster it just makes me want one, but then the mrs. would steal it and then I would have to buy another and just don’t have the $$ or the room. Can’t wait to see it finished.

So you do build models Robert. [;)] I bet you’re having ball with that kit. I also like the job on the winch. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, Looking good Robert!

I was wondering how this project was coming along. Can’t wait to see the finished piece!

Well, well, well look at that beautiful giant. Great work as expected from the postmaster general. And it’s really big too. Can’t wait to see it complete with a Tiger…ahem I mean an M36B1 riding it.

Do you really want to make it dirty? I mean it looks good already as it is. Prestine and clean.

Thanks for sharing pics.

Looks great Sherm,

Alot of stinkin’ pieces there !

You said you allready had something for the back ? Or are you going to make one?

Thank you all for your kind words. It has been a joy to work with this kit, by far the best that I’ve seen from Tamiya or anyone else for that matter.

MGM - you’ll like the pencil lead (graphite) technique once you try it, very easy to work with and great results.

Dwight - Ah yes the great debate, where to stop. I’ve been on and off as to where to complete this one. Dust her up a bit and call it a day, or get it down and dirty. Decisions, decisions!!! LOL

Dave - I feel honoured to be a member of “Animal’s Truck Brigade”, junior ranks of course.

I’ll keep you all posted as to the progress.

Looks great Robert.
As always…you da man.

Mike

Looks fantastic!

very nice job!! looks like a clean build all round. that said, it is time for some dirt!![:D]

Looking great, Robert!
I love the color. Which OD is it? Something you whipped up yourself, perhaps? I like the darker ODs, which seems like what you’ve done.

Did you sand all the tires using the “freeze-n-sand” method? Previously, you mentioned it worked a bit. What are your thoughts about it overall? Something you would recommend?
