Dragon Tiger I finished

Weathering on this is excellent.[t$t]

Very nice build Aaron, all-round, a well done Tiger. I have one (or two) of these in my stash to be built… perhaps incentive for me to dig one out.

Mostly, thanks for sharing!

Hi Aaron

I guess I will have to be the first to complain…sure wish you would’ve put up a few more pics… : )

bill

That’s what you are looking at…

aaron, is that a horseshoe on the front ??

Me thinks he must be busy …hasnt answered in a while …[whstl]

Guys,

Wow, thanks for all the nice remarks. I don’t want to spoil too much of what’s to come, but I can tell you the whitewash weathering is the much-vaunted hairspray technique and the mud is Mig pigments with plaster and acrylic gel medium.

And yes p38j, that is a horseshoe on the front. Apparently this vehicle wore one and Dragon is kind enough to give it to you in the kit. This Tiger was apparently captured by the Soviets around Leningrad in late '42 or early '43.

Cheers, Aaron

PS

Shell, I have been a little busy. Check out the kit and book previews on our homepage under the FSM Insider tab.

Will do Aaron . [Y]

Aaron,

Yet another ‘well done.’ Definitely looks great…I’m looking forward to the extended review of your build. I have this kit also, so your comments will certainly be helpful.

Cool Aaron… I like the horseshoe… I have a couple on my MK IV’s… [Y]

After the Russians captured this tank in 18-1-43, they scrubbed it down and displayed it in Gorky Park.

See it in this video, from 7.09

Rockford;

Forensics says the fingerprints on the shovel, axe, and mallet don’t match the perps. Otherwise, a great build.

Well done Aaron!.. It may be the first but it won’t be the last…

I very much like the mud and crud built up on the back there!

Kenneth Childres

It’s probably cliche to say this at this point, but the mud is outstanding, and the wheels really look the part. I’m sorry if this is a repeat question, but what’s the serial number for this kit? I want to build a Tiger, and I’m open to any and all suggestions for the best kit.

It’s kit 6600 from Dragon.

David

Sure looks sweet! I like the exhausts too.

Thanks, David, I’ll have to check it out.

Theres also kit 6252 which is the same tank without the white wash. Not sure if they are exactly the same kit, as 6252 is an slightly older release. And not sure if the Horse shoe is included.

the horseshoe rocks… ! I had a photo etch detail set from someone that had 2 in it…

Aaron,
I guess this is DML #6600?
Anyway this is turret # 100 of S.Pz.Abt. 502.
You nailed it - not that I have seen any but blurry pictures of #100 out of Russian display, but this is very convincing and 100% in line with DML’s and the research team suggestions for the first batch of Tiger I arriving at the front in 1942.
I look forward to additional posts

As always
