Dragon Stug IV Photos

Howdy all, hope it’s as nice a day where you are as it is here in Meeechigan!! Here’s my finished(well, this too will end up in a Vig.) Dragon StugIV. If you remember , this is the kit I whined about having the wrong parts.[BH] To Dragon’s credit, they responded quickly with the parts and updated instruction sheet. Seems I wasn’t misunderstanding the instructions, somehow this one didn’t get the update.

Anyway, as usual it was fun to build. Lots of stuff for the spares. Now I need to take a brake on building and practice figure painting to go with some of my builds. I just can’t seem to get the hang of faces!!![banghead]

STUG61,
Must be an extremely nice job for a Buckeye to compliment someone from Meeechigan. [swg][swg].
All kidding aside that’s one great looking Stug. I’m a fan of that “well used” look and I think you’ve done a great job in achieving that look. I’d go [tup][tup][tup][tup].
Joe[:D]

Great work on your namesake there Andrew. That Schurzen looks as real as can be. Another great build. Hey, here’s something you might want to try on those figures!

Try painting the entire figure in flat black first. Once cured, then mix the various flesh tones on the face. The flat black gives the depth in the nostrils, mouth, and earholes that add realism.

Regards,

Steve

Really nice job! Well done!

stug, very well done… excellent cammo job and weathering.
ME LIKE!

Tanks guys!!(sorry) Joe, I REALLY app. the Compliment. But after last season you gotta be smilin"!! [B)] [:D] I have as much fun weathering as anything else, plus eventually they all go into some type of diorama or viginette.I’ll try that crockett, thanks for the tip. Thanks again for the kind words guys!!![;)]

Fantastic work! The weathering is very realistic.

I wish I could weather like that. Looks very worn. I like the tracks also. Well done.

STUG61,
I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bring a smile to my face [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D].
But I’d be happy if I could do the weathering job that you did [B)][B)][bow].
Anyway, great work and I’m glad you share your work with us.
Joe[swg]

Great job!

I hope one day I can do something that well.

Thanks again!! I’m never satisfied with any of them. Always think of this or that I could have done. But I guess that’s how we learn.I’ll tell ya, I’ve put alot of weathering on an old hull I have laying around. Now that thing is weathered!!!But better to try it on that first that to muck up a build. Thanks again guys.

Beauty build there. I have wanted to do one of those for some time and you have inspired me to go get one. Thanks

nice lookin stug there stug![8D]

Just underlining [:D]

That looks great! Nicely weathered!

Sure glad to see a happy ending on your Stug Andy. She just came out beautiful. Guess I’m going to have to dig my shelfed Stug out and give it another try! You’ve proven the dead can be brought back to life. LOL. Great job, thanks for sharing with us. Semper Fi, Mike

Thanks Mike. Yah, I was a whiney baby about the parts deal [BH]!!! It was my first attempt at a Dragon kit and after hearing all the good about DML I was p@#$y about it. As I said, I was REALLY impressed with their customer service. I had the parts and new instruction sheet in about four days after I left an email.
Now i’ve got a bunch of DML and a bunch on pre-order!! I wish they’d come!!!

sweet build, I just have a couple of thse pesky questions for you…

first, is it 1/35?
second, is it one of there kits that comes with all the extra PE stuff and options?
third, whats the kit number for that one?

yours turned out wonderfully, and I especially like the paint and weathering.

jim

Jim, yes it is 1/35. There are just a few PE parts in it. Small details mainly . The stock # is dr6043. If you get it check the parts carefully in case you get one like I did with the wrong rear plate and instructions.

I really love what you did with the camo. Great work. [^]
