Dragon Shilka

Current project: Egyptian ZSU-23-4v1 from Shanghai Dragon.

Nice work so far!

Great looking model. More pics, please.

Thanks you two. Will do kaleu

hey great pics of the shilka. have you tried the indies yet? I’m startin the same kit and am worried cause the tracks are really small. I might have difficulties with them.

The tracks are going together wonderfully. Should be no issues at all maine.

Updates. Got a few going right now, so the going is slow.

Looks great! How much weathering will you do to it? The camo looks fantastic.

Probably not a huge amount right now. Can’t find many ref pics of the captured ones. I have a few of the Russian ones, but I need some good weathering of the captured ones from the 1973 war.

Nice work on the camo[tup]

Great work so far.
From what I’ve seen, and it isn’t much, most of the Shilkas used in that conflict had their camo painted over the original dark Russian green. Because of the climate, many vehicles had a fairly high amount of chipped paint. Might be something to consider for the weathering.
Keep us posted. Itching to see this one built up.

good call zok. hadn’t considered that aspect. thx.

Still going … slowly, but going.

[:D]looking good ,nice paint job,[:D]

You’re doing a super job on your “Shilka” Shane! It’s always nice to see something out of the ordinary, the track, and suspension work are very well done, especially the wear, and tear on the road wheels, and the weathering on the tracks. Certainly building into a nice kit. Thanks for sharing. Semper Fi, mike

Thanks Darwin. Thanks Mike.

I Like it!!! Nice job, nice cammo! Think I’m gonna hafta pick me up one of those.

Pretty much done for now. Couple of Group Builds need some attention. Russian and Cargo Truck namely.

Nicely done. I’ll be starting mine very soon [:)]

lol, yeah I’ve been anticipating your build in the cargo truck gb.

HA! It will suck! lol I had finished the 5-ton a little before the GB actually started so instead I am going to do the HEMTT. Then make a nice little scene with both of them!
