When did the Marine Pershings get into Korea? Would they have encountered Chinese troops during their winter attacks? I have the Dragon Korean War Chinese Volunteer troops in winter fatigues and would like to incorporate a vehicle. I also have the USMC M26A1 Pershing. WOuld it be historically accurate?
I have seen photos of Marine M26A1s during the Chosin campaign of winter '50-'51. Yes it would be historically accurate to put those figures with that tank in a diorama setting. Try finding a book titled “Chosin, Frozen Ordeal of the Korean War” ( I loaned my copy out never to be returned) for some good tales of the comabt there including Pershings against Chinese infantry.
Marine Pershings fist arrived in Korea in summer 1950 during the Pusan Perimeter battles. All photos of those show M-26 variants, not M-26A1s.
