Hello All,
Few shots of Dragon’s M-26.
Mostly experimented with this one as far as the paint scheme. The tarp and rolls were some of my first attempts, so please don’t laugh too hard.
Will more that likely try and do something to coorect them. As always please let fly with any criticisms, comments, suggestions or questions. And no, I wasn’t on anything when I did it[8D].
Regards,
Joe
I always liked the Tiger motif on Korean War Tanks. I have the M-46 version. Looks really good. The homemade tarps are pretty good for your first time. What did you think of the kit tracks? I hear they are a bear
[^][tup][tup] Very nice job, I like it, A lot of effort went into this build. I really like the tracks. and paint.
Great paint job. Can you share any tips on how you did it? Did you have any problems building the tracks?
Wow, nice paintjob. The weathering is superb Joe. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice! The paint job and weathering look great!
Hey Guys,
First let me thank you for your comments.
As for the tracks I’m sorry that I really can’t give you much info. The reason being is a friend of mine gave me the kit built up but with out markings.
That’s when I thought it might be fun to try the tiger scheme. Basically just disassembled the model into some sub components. I did disassemble the tracks. but they were single piece (when I broke them apart, so I don’t know if they were multi piece or not), so it was a matter of reassembling them after painting and some weathering. They did reassemble very easily.
The tiger scheme was free handed. Started of with a diluted Floquil D&RGW yellow sprayed lightly over the OD green trying to allow the OD base to show through where I wanted to depict wear. The same for the red. Used very diluted color and sprayed lightly to build up the color to a level where I was happy. The stripes were just brush painted. Took some OD and used a short (cut off to 1/8 inch) brush, removed most on paper towel and tapped the brush on areas of the yellow and red to try and show wear. Also used the yellow on yellow and red on red in the same way to try and show where some of the dust and grime might have rubbed off and a brighter shade showing through.
For the areas around the eyes and mouth I took a Sharpie and just drew a line around the color.
Any questions you may have are more than welcome and I will do my best to answer them to your satisfaction.
Regards,
Joe
Nice paint job!
