Ah… how nice! I recently was helping restoring such a cannon ![]()
[zzz] How about some non German artillery Dragon? A 17 pdr? 75mm pack howitzer?
Would be nice that too… Very, very, very nice… but the Pak 97 are fairly rare… I know several people who know like, everything about German WWII, but never heard of this gun…
Not necessarily rare, but definitely obscure. They were stop-gap guns reworked from captured French Schneider guns, so they’re more well known in their original form than they are in the Pak disguise. It’s one more indication of just how ad hoc things were for the Russian Front at the outset…and indeed for many of the early campaigns (think Pz 38(t)) if the Germans hadn’t been successful at using captured gear, many of their units would’ve been under-equipped or not equipped at all!
