Thank you and thank you.
Thats good stuff! Thanks for sharing with us.
Outstanding builds. I"ve always been a fan of the vietnam era stuff, both US and all the cool soviet stuff used. Did you build any of the enemy vehicles?
I have a couple of those kits in my stash, patiently waiting their turn.
I don’t know about anyone else, but the only scary part about riding in an LVTP ( I rode in the LVTP-7) was that you didn’t know where you were going until that exit door ramp opened up. In the surf, my only worry was with the guys who’d get seasick and puke and the mess would get into the bilge pumps, clog them up and the engines would stall. Now you were just bobbing out in the surf waiting for a tow.
Great build Mike. They look great. I thought instead of Olive Drab for the M-48, that you might have used Marine Corps Green from Model Master. Semper Fi

I knew looking at the LVTP5 would bring back afew memories from some of you former Marines. That plunge off the back of the LPD or LCU was always the event that would make the hair standup on your neck. Actually went into the surf sideways off an LCM in a M-48 tank once. Now that’ll make you puckerup. Took salt water into the exhaust and created our own smoke screen. My driver said my god sarge I see fish.LOL. By the way folks, the actual color of these models is a Marine green, with just a little weathering with an old dirty toothbrush. Thanks for your comments, glad you’ve taken the time to view. NIce looking LVP5. I was a crewman on one in Vietnam. (1965-66) My son got me the kit a couble years a go. I just retired & going to build the kit like the one I drove. Did you do the interior? Thanks
Thanks for your service Charles, I always like too salute a fellow Vet. To answer your question with regard to the interior! there is an after market kit avail, I don’t have that information readily avail at the moment. I do remember that it was very expensive, and just out of my price range. It would really enhance the kit especially if you had the upper hatches open. Thanks for your comments. Semper Fi, mike
Hey, Mike. When you get a sec, check out my M-48 in the Insane build. I am looking for an input on the accuracy of the red dirt/mud/dusting I did.
