Hi
Got the Revell A.20 recently. Its the old kit with A 20s bombing Rommels tanks.
Painting is shown as"patches of brown and green for British version.Add tan blotches over British for American.See box art."
Colors are dark earth, and dark green with sky “duck egg blue”---- which Id have expected to see off stocks diverted to USAAF use --but can anyone tell me any more?
-
Were any RAF "Bostons " fully painted up transferred to the USAAF?
-
If so were the RAF roundels just quickly painted over, as the box shows with camouflage crossing over the blue and leaving yellow from the side roundels visible?
-
Was the star left on both wings or only one? [A B25 Ive seen a photo of had stars painted over clear blue roundels and also had fin flashes–which aren’ t shown on the A 20 box art.]
-Any suggestions for “tan” ? The British stone colour ?
-Photos I ve seen seem to show a rougher “in the field” finish a bit cruder than the box art.
Any comments appreciated.
