At the present I use a Paasche model H brush. I’ve used this brush for years. I want to start working with a double action for more control and greater detail, any suggestions on brand or model?
I just bought a Badger 100LG; I haven’t done much with it but so far I really like it. The double-action part is fairly easy to pick up (coming from someone who had never used a double action before). It has a large cup so I can paint most any sized model and not have to stop and refill; it also has a cover for the cup so paint doesn’t fly everywhere if you get jostled. The price is right also. Very important (to me): Badger has great customer service. Not long ago I found an old Badger 350 in a box that had been in storage for about 20 years; also I had neglected to clean it before putting it away. It kind of splurted paint and the air would never actually cut off. I sent it back to Badger just to see what would happen and they sent me back a basically new air-brush! The only part that looked original was the screw on handle.
I use a Badger 150 and a 200. Cant beat a double action for smooth spray and detail work. It takes some time to learn a ‘soft’ touch on the trigger. Well worth it…
