Hobby craft does a Do-17 but it has a slight banana bow to the fuselage. Not very noticable but it is there. Cockpit is sparse and not accurate. With some work turns into a nice model. Not sure about books, have you searched Amazon.com?
the do-17 z is done by revell of germany. or rather it was done. it is OOP and very hard to find. I was lucky that my LHS had one crushed under a stack of other kits.
The Hobbycraft 1/48 kit is a very inaccurate rendering. The ancient 1/72 Monogram kit is more accrate, but totally lacking interior detail. It’s surprizing that a modern tooled kit of this important aircraft has yet to appear.

The interior detail problem can be fixed (I believe) by the Eduard PE interior detail set for the monogram kit. If you get that and the do-17 from revell, I’d say that’s the best combination out there. You’ll be needing some decals though…
