Got my Bellanca CH-300 on the bench now. I heard shortly after they got the record ship kits out that they would make a regular production model, but it never appeared. The record ship has the side windows covered over. However, a review said the kit has the inside of the windows scribed on the inside of the fuselage and they can be cut out, so that is the option I am going with. The side windows are flat, so it should be fairly easy to scratch them. Furthermore, the windows are inset a bit, with a very narrow recess that should allow the windows to fit flush with the inside of the fuselage. That frame area is only about 30 mil wide, so I will have to cut the windows very accurately.

Well; Hey Don, don’t keep us slavering, get Building !
Replacing some porch railings- it is quite a job. Trying to get them done before the snow flies. After snow comes, I’ll have a lot more time for modeling. Blowing drive takes far less time than mowing lawn.
Got the windows in. I’ll give the UV hardening glue a final bake in sun today.
Got to wondering- was there ever a kit for the Bellanca Cruisair? That was my favorite Bellanca. It had a neat triple vertical tail, sort of like a Connie.
Hi Don;
hey, Seems to me there was. As to whom the mfgr. was I certainly don’t remember. I do remember on of my buddies said I built it wrong cause I put to many tails on it !
All I’ve ever seen was stick and tissue of the Crusair.
Fell down some stairs a week and a half ago, and have been unable to build. Banged up my right arm and shoulder pretty bad, though no broken bones. I am not much good building models as a lefty. Anyway, got back to work yesterday and here is status at beginning of work session. Got the cockpit glued into right fuselage half at end of session.

Sorry the workbench is so dirty. I’ll put down a clean sheet of something before the next photos. The seats and belts are scratch. The kit includes one bench seat, which wouldn’t work for production plane because doors are rear of seats, so there has to be an isle between them.
oh my sorry to hear that hope all is healing well . I have been dealing with a gout fair up my self but your plane looks alright.
Oho Don !
See, that’s what I keep telling the Doc. If I lose my old age padding I’ll break or hurt sumpin. He keeps sayin ," get Skinnier" I hope you’re doing okay and don’t push it, Ya heah !
