Don't know if anyone is interested, but...

Here’s a bit of actual WWII fighter pilot reports; just a point of interest to those who may find it interesting… One thing I find UberCool about it is an original flight report by Maj. Francis “Gabby” Gabreski, P-47 designation HV-A…

Hey Gunner,

It sounds interesting, but there’s no link for me…[dinner]

Cheers,
Alex

Cool…I love reading those old reports. Lets you kinda “get to know” some of those guys…if you know what I mean.[tup]

I don’t have a link either.[%-)]

Very cool! And a really nice little piece of history![8D]

Ditto! Really cool to see an actual AAR from WW2 Air to Air combat. Well… not really an AAR in the sense of an AAR format, but it was cool to see a report of actions in combat. Thanks for that!

Yikes!

Sorry, didn’t mean link actually, but a section from a site I found…

Here is the site link; I’m pretty sure you can find a particular pilot if you know what aircraft designation to look for…

Thx for posting, great little piece of history. You could gleen from the combat report that Gabby was pretty lapse with his gun control. Shot down one fighter and didnt have enough ammo to finish the 2nd? Those P47’s had shed loads of ammo. Small squirts, man, small squirts. lol.

Thanks, always good to see something interesting like that.

That is really cool. I’ve built “Gabby” Gabreski’s Jug a few times.

Interesting that they went feet dry at 1317 and were already in a dogfight by 1341. I guess the droptanks didn’t help much on that trip.

wow…can you imagine seeing 20 FW 190’s coming your way ready to cause destruction on those bombers? Must have been a sight!!

Mark

Very interesting stuff, thanks for sharing! I’m gonna go check out that link. [tup]
