Well, I have finally finished my Russian 2S6 Tunguska Mobile SAM system!
Here she is in all her glory!
After this I finished off my British aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious. She looks good next to her two sisters HMS Invincible and HMS Ark Royal; too bad I don’t have a digicam capable of taking that pic! Ah, it is so nice to finally have the complete set!
And then, while I was contemplating what to do next, I picked up my German Panther that I was refurbishing to see what else I could do to it. Lo and behold, stuck to the bottom of the tracks, was the little baggie holding my three missing rubber tires for the Sagger! [:O][banghead][banghead]
Well, I promptly pulled down my Sagger and popped the tires on it; popped being a figurative term here. In actuality, I broke three wheels and snapped the front axle off trying to put them on. But, on they went and this is the final result:
Finally! It is finished!
That Sagger, the Tunguska and the three carriers finally completed made this a very good modeling day!
Your a machine Duke. Love that camo on the Tungaska. Glad to hear all went well. I had a similar experience finding a piece that I gave up for lost, glueing it back on and then nearly losing it once more.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the comments very much. Now I have to start working on my brother’s Titanic model, but I’ll still keep the Factory going!
Not a bad idea! If only I had a camera capable of taking one shot of all of them together so I could post it. That would be cool. Still, I can post all the pics in one post so you can see them altogether if you like.
Joe, Roy, Dave, thanks! I appreciate you viewing and commenting. You are all great guys!
Thanks Frank! You may want to wait until a company comes out with the Tunguska in 1/35th scale; I’m not sure if anyone has yet. Mine is 1/72 scale, so it would look quite small next to your Dragon ZSU 23-4. Still, it was pretty fun kit to build once I got past all the flash cleanup!
