As I was working on the Tiger I felt the need to work on something new and perhaps a bit more OOB so I grabbed this little flammpanzer from the shelf. In trying to keep it as much OOB as possible I may have missed an ejector pin mark and definately a sink hole or two,the sprocket hubs,I will fill those before final painting begins. The only parts that are not kit parts are the lift hooks on the hull and turret which are from the spares box,the kit hooks were little blobs with virtually no detail. The Notek light and taillight are also from the spares as is the antennae mount,so other than that she’s all ALAN.As usual any snickers guffaws and comments are welcome.Thanks for looking.
Greg- It looks great! [Y] I don’t think I have seen it built before. It is good to take a break from being a ‘detail freak’ sometimes. We all understand and support your decision to do a OOB this time ONLY. [:P] Dumb question… I assume those stuff in the rear are smoke dischargers?
The items on the rear are small rockets. The way this flammpanzer works is that it shoots gasoline from those turrets on the fender and then pops the rockets to ignite the gas on the ground and in the trenches. Doesn’t work in the traditional way US flamethrowers work.
I have not built anything by that brand so I take your word for it being a dog.

Thanks for the comments,The Dogs of Alan was a term I used awhile back when I was building three other Alan kits and just seems fitting. Tigerman that primer is Krylon from the can,indoor /outdoor ruddy brown is the color.
I have a question on the launchers as I have no reference material,are the rockets electrically fired or mechanically?

By coincident I was going through some older numbers of FSM this week and I found this in the November 1992 issue.
The price tag of the FSM magazine was $ 2.95 or Swedish Kronor 32:-.
Ruffly the same as a Big Mac at the time.

Nice clean build going on there Greg, again I have no personal experience of the Alan kit, but other Alan products I have seen in the box seemed to be very rough. As a young chap I had the ADV kit and it was a beauty, i will be following this one as its a very unique subject.
Brushed on alittle grey. Lots of nooks and crannies to deal with. The individual link tracks suprised me in that ther was a heck of a lot more detail than the tracks on the three previous Alan builds. It seems to me that at one time Isaw a photo of a flammpanzer II and it had dark yellow pattern over the grey,anyone re-call seeing this?
Ok ,both sides of the track are finished and primed,and painted.Started to apply some decals,they seemed very thick and it took multiple applications of micro-sol to get them to snuggle down.Seems to be a nicefit as I was looking through the opti-visor,to the pics.
With any luck I will finish the tracks and have them on by morning.
