Hi guys, i am about to airbrush with tamiya clear paints (smoke, clear blue, clear yellow … ), and i was wondering if they require any thining or not.
This question also applies to the tamiya dull coat. I want to know if the dull coat is ready to go, or not.
warmachine, i thin my just a hair. it seems to do alot better than not thinning them. you can always build up the coat to what your looking for but never can you reverse an orange peel effect unless you go through some messy stripping and ruining the paint job around the area. later.

It will spray out of the bottle, but I don’t want to use that much pressure so I thin it. It takes a few coats to get good coverage, but it doesn’t have a lot of color to it anyway.
I haven’t used the dull coat so I can’t help you there. Someone will, I’m sure.
Thin just a bit, but for Tamiya Clear flat, remember to add a lot of future, 1:3 for dead flat, 1:5 for flat, 1:7 for satin, and then thin just a bit
