Do you see what I see on ebay

One thing I regularly do is go through 1/35 on ebay. It seems in the past weeks that it has gone from a few to almost half the ads are for built kits.

Hummm…is the economy driving more people to make some money selling built models???

Rounds Complete!!

Yes and no. I sell my models once in a while to support my hobby and also to help pay some bills, tough times.

Another reason why I sell is a lack of space to display my models, and when I’m done with a model I get tired of seeing it and thinking I could have done better.

Why others sell, don’t know!!!

I guess it’s what your looking at. I saw one seller that must have bought a lot of them from an estate sale, so that’ll spike the numbers. Usually I eyeball the big-boys and don’t usually see too many built kits.

LMAO…Wow, this is funny. Talking about selling built models…HAHAHAHA

Bob

Well at least the shipping fee is only ten dollars.

Looks pretty good, but…

I agree BoB—LMAO too!

$100,000 no returns ships from Greece! He’s got some thrusos !

Wow! Superb work, but $100K? Sorry I can’t see dropping that much on a dio. Good luck to the dude.

Not really a dio. As I see no figures on the deck.

I mean it is probably one of the best models I’ve seen, at least judging by his pics.

But I think he has been sniff a little (or maybe a lot) to much CA!!! LOL!!!

[:D]

See ya

Scott

!http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q22/kinglouis2005/Greek.jpgThe seller is located in Greece so It must be a greek thing; you know, he’s probably got his comma , in the wrong place.

$100,000?[^o)] My wife love me and fully supports my hobby/OCD outlet/addiction but, I have to say that she would maim me on this one. LOL That way every time I walked with a limp I would be reminded that dropping $100K on a built model was a very bad idea. A VERY bad idea. Nonetheless, I do wish this guy the best of luck. Wasn’t it P.T. Barnum that said that there is a particular type of person “born every minute”

Cheers

Dave

Nice model but a comma and decimal error for sure! Humm…I wonder if it is insured!!!

Rob - Fully understand…just seem there are a bunch lately

Tigerman - Thanks for the estate sale note. I don’t know if that accounts for them all but who knows how big the estate is

Actually–think about this ,guys–do you realize how BRILLIANT an idea for “marketing” this guy’s services this eBay post is?!

When you go down the page to look for the “explanation” of what this is, here’s the first thing you see–

"i do accept work on commission

email at katsflyby@hotmail.com"

BRILLIANT!!!

I’ll bet that this guy is not expecting to sell this model–no way he could be so optimistic (deluded?! egotistical?!) as to th believe that he’s going to get THAT price in this economy?!

But he sure knew that it would get guys on modeling fourms talking and looking at it—like we are?..

One smart cookie. And I’ll bet he gets thousands of dollars in commission work out of it. That IS one nice looking Bismark! The sea looks particularly cool!

My take, his wife said, “You’ve got to get rid of that Nazi thing. I don’t want it in my house!” He said he’d sell it on e-bay but if it didn’t sell he’d get to keep it. [:D]

OY! Shades of my mother!..

My uncle Sylvester brought back a quartet of solid silver goblets from Berchtesgaden with the swastika on the bottom–100% authentic Nazi loot–and left them to my mom when he died in the early 80’s. She sold em to some local war collector—couldn’t stand the thought of having the swastika in the house.

Man, I would KILL to have those babies back! [:'(]

I agree with Steve, the comma’s probably out-of-place. Should read $1000.00 Still a ton of money, but more in line with the work. IMO

I humble offer my services for merely one tenth of the posted ad

PS - He must be using a currency convertor backwards; his other “offerings” are HIGHER than the Bismarck! But FREE shipping [<:o)]
