1/48 scale prototype, can you name this bird?
How about a P-47 or P-40?
I’ll go with P-40.
P-40, no doubt.
the big lever to the right of the seat, small panel sticking out under the IP - I’d be surpised if it ISN’T a P-40.
But then again because it seems to be so obvious it’s probably soemthing like a P-43 or other relatively obscure plane that not so many people are familiar with. . .
After looking a little more closely it looks like a combination of these cockpit’s. P-40,P-47, P-51D.
It’s in the P-40 family but can you get closer? There is a single dead give-away within the parts shown that determine the model letter.
Bulhead and headrest scream P-36. But I’m also known to be wrong on such things[XX]
I’m gonna say XP-40Q.

Not sure what they called it? XP-? But there seems to be some extra gauges on the IP. Is it the twin-engine version?
Yeah. . . . . all the p-40’s I’ve seen have had sort of triangular shaped headrests. And the two red dots on the lower right side of the IP, most of the ones I’ve seen and in photos have normal looking gauges there - not “red knobs.”
