Do you know of any easy to make and detailed military jets?

Hi

I was wondering if any of you guys knew any cheap, easy to make but detailed fighter jets in any scale.

Thanks

I haven’t built them but some of the older Tamiya kits in 1/48 can be cheap. I’ve been building the WWII fighters without any fit dramas. They tend to have a low parts count and good detail too.

lol, reminds me of a poster I saw in a printshop I used to deal with: “We print fast, cheap, and high quality. Please pick 2 of these options”…

I would quickly recommend trying to track down some of the older 1/72 Heller kits. I’ve been impressed with the level of detail for the size, fairly low parts count, good overall fit, at least in the ones I’ve built so far. They do have raised details, not engraved. They also cover some lesser-known aircraft.

I would possibly say any Eduard Weekend edition would be a good choice. I have never made any of them but I can only imagine as the name suggests they wont take long to put together.

Since you’re looking for easy jet builds I’d steer you towards simpler aircraft like the Tamiya MiG-15, the Hasegawa F-86 and A-4. They’re pretty straight forward and quick builds. Plus the quality is nice.

Airfix’s new toolings are pretty slick in 1/72- check out their A-4 Skyhawk.

Thanks guys. Do you know of any snapfit kits or do all of them require hobb glue?

I haven’t done any snapfit kits, so I can’t say but I have seen them turned into quite credible models.
