I am getting back into model building. I prefer to construct airliners, particularly 1/144 scale. I love the Minicraft MD80 and B757 kits, but I am not too crazy on their B727-200 model.
I have two Minicraft MD80 kits that I will eventually get to one of these days. I plan to construct one model with the twin-stripe TWA decals and the other with the old Republic “Herman” color scheme.
Has anyone built the Minicraft B777? I have read some good articles on the kit and understand the model can be assembled with relative ease.
Yeah, I build airliners. In fact, that’s the bulk of what I’ve built. When I get done with my current project I’m going to finish a 1/144 Airfix 747-200 that I started 15 years ago and buy TWA decals circa 1980’s.
Airliners? You bet, mate. Love 'em…I love the 1/144 Minicraft kits, but I’ve not yet built the 777. Most of what I build is airliners…repairs to those massive resin travel agent display models, too.
The largest one I’ve got is a 747-200 that’s a tad over 6 feet long - clear down one side - with a full interior and 5 teeny little flouro lights…and one day I’ll restore it (it’s a little tatty)…
Anyway - post some pica of that 777 - I’d love to see it.
