do u know where

Does anyony know where i can find a b-24???

Which Scale & Model ?, I’ve seen that Revell Germany re-released the B-24D in 1/48 scale and I’ve seen them in Hobby Lobby for $29.99, and I’ve seen the Academy’s B-24 run there too but for about $25, but you might get a better deal from Squadron or Great Models, as for the Revellograms B-24J best look at EvilBay and cough up about $50.00+

1/72 scale… plenty of options… just check Squadron.com.

1/48… 'nother story… pretty much covered in the prior post.

RM will probably re-release the J in a few years since these larger planes seem to come out once a decade.

Academy have one in 1/144 too!

I found one for you Will, and what are you doing on the computer? I thought you were still grounded! I’m Tellin!

Is the Revell Germany kit the same as the Monogram, ie raised panel lines?

Karl

Hey KJ200;
yes the Revell-G is the same as the Monograms, the companies murged a few years back and now the go by Revell/Monogram or as Black Wolf puts it “Revellogram”, I’m hoping for them to pull their head out and update the molds so they are recessed not raised panel lines but it’s only a pipe dream

the D dont care wich scale aslong as i got 1

Thanks scott iv been posten but not @ home

I’ve always wanted to do a B-24, but does academy make one in 1/72?

shrikes,

yep, Academy has the D, H, J and I believe the M. (Ok, You can also build the E, F and G from the D kit, they’re all basically the same design - built at different locations and/or manufacturers). The only difference in the H and J kits is the model specific decals - the only visiual difference between the two models was the nose turrets and the both kits contain both models turrets. (Got two of each in my stash - couldn’t resist the prices)

If you’re going to build one of the D family, you’re going to have to research the particular aircraft you want to model, as throughout the production period, there were differences in the nose windows (early versions had two small windows on left side of nose, while late versions had a larger window with a 50 cal mounted in the lower forward corner and a small window just aft of it). You’ll have to check what type of belly protection your D had. The C model had an entry hatch located just aft of the side windows in the belly which was clear and had a 50 cal sticking through it. When the D’s were initially produced they had the same remote control belly turret that the early B-17Es had. Apparently the gunners suffered the same problems as the B17 gunners and they reverted to the clear entry door/50 cal for a period with the final versions having the Sperry retractable ball turret.

There is also an Academy PB4Y-1 with the ERCO ball turret in the nose available. Now if we could just talk them into producing a B-24A/Liberator I and a good PB4Y-2 life would be good.
