This 48 Tamiya Do 335a is not a ‘What If’, this bird was actually captured and test flown by the Allied Technical Inteligence Unit of the RAF, this bird is battered as per the photograph, from a book. It was stripped of all but the front cowling cammo, as a meens of not being shot down by frendly fire.
The BM on this bird is straight from Humbrol # 191, the cowling is RLM 82 / 83 over RLM 76, the props are the standard RLM 70, the three greens are from the Xtra Colour range of Lufftwaffe paints, the RLM 76 is a composit mix from Humbrol tins. The entire model is covered in Dull Coat and is ment to look grotty.
Now that’s a nice looking piece of work. I am impressed. I’ve always liked the Arrow and you have done a job well worthy of praise. Nice panel line shading, good exhaust stains, just plain excellent. What more can I say?

It’s absence of the other camo that prevented it from being hit by ff, the idea of the shiny, bare metal plane is that it can be recognized as a friendly right away, since germany didn’t use bare metal planes.
She looks strange with no paint and the wrong markings… What a cool idea for a model! I applaud you especially on the cockpit and canopy frames. Thanks for sharing it! I like the angle of the fourth pic.
The 335 is a cool aircraft anyway. I think I saw a pic in a FSM magazine where someone did a 635, i.e. twinned 335 fuselages on one wing. This just reminded me of that.
