I spent all day Friday masking this nose piece. Today the panels in the nose and around the pilot have been installed and the nose gun has been constructed.
As far as that nose gun goes, I built it out of two spare individual machine guns then manufactured the spend shell chute from a piece of sprue. I mounted the sprue in my dremel and used it as a lathe turning it over the edge of a diamond file to make the grooves then it was heated over a candle and bent into shape. I think it came out pretty nice. The bomb site is the original kit piece but needed a bit of modification to fit with the new glazing. Instrument panel faces are Reheat decals set with Future.
