DML Tiger 1 "Initial Production" sPzAbt 502 Tank 121 "3 in1" pics

OK, go easy on the technical stuff…I build aircraft, and this is the 1st 1/35 AFV I’ve even attempted since I was a little kid. I know that Tank 121, captured by the Russians, had a different, geometric winter camo scheme on it…but this way was more fun to paint, and I wasn’t even sure I could pull it off. Anyways, this kit was a blast, and now I’m hooked! Thanks to Tim Loungeway for the track advice/pics (!)…I still think they’re on wrong, but the damned things wouldn’t fit any other way!!! I don’t care, it was fun and I like it. Crewmen to follow soon. Enjoy the photos!

Looks great! What did you think of the kit??

Thank You! I thought the kit was fantastic, but I struggled with the tracks…but I’m not used to tracks!! Incredible detail, easy assembly, overall great fit, and nice price. I noticed you’re from Butler…I live in Cranberry Township, and work at Butler Memorial…small world!!

looks good to me! I believe this is the first finished dml tiger that ive seen, congrats!

Great work. The paint work looks awesome but since you said your normally an aircraft builder, your shading is a little reminscent of aircraft panel shading. It still looks right to me. Whenever I paint aircraft they end up looking like tanks LOL! [:D]

It doesn’t take much to get “hooked”. Especially with a kit like that. Your next kit might be a partial letdown. What do you think your next venture into the Dark Side will be?

[:D] the tiger looks great ,nice build[:D]

Ah yes, another flyboy hooked. [;)] Glad you enjoyed your Tiger and have seen the Dark Side for all it’s worth. Very nice weathering. Hard to believe you’ve been only doing A/C. I look forward to your next project.

That looks fantastic. The winter camouflage also looks great. It makes me want to clear the projects off of my hobby table and start on the DML Tiger I right now. Did the kit have any fit problems? Again, it looks fantastic.

Looks good. The only thing i see wrong is the commanders cupola on wrong. But besides that looks great.

Geez! A keeper first time out! Nice work!

Thanks, the Dark Side is a comfortable place! I have the Dragon Panther A Early Version, and my son and I are working on their King Tiger Henschel Turret kit. I really need to do the Tumpeter Avenger next though!

Thank You, and tanks to all of you for your kind words and encouragement! There are no fit problems with this kit that I didn’t create for myself! The fit is superb, but I need more experience applying tracks.

It’s about time someone built one of these.

Great job, I’m glad you enjoyed building it, I’m certainly enjoying the pics.
The track sag is fine, and your exhaust looks great.

First, welcome to the dark side. Second, great job on that Tiger. Third, how’d a wingie thingie builder beat us to the punch on this thing?

Cool! You must be familiar with Hobby Express, then!

You have some really nice looking planes on your home site. Do you belong to IPMS Shenango or Three Rivers?

WOW, I was going to wait to open mine when it finally gets here, but now I think I will have to tear it open. Good work, heck, excellent work. Thanks for sharing a completed one. Been hearing how great it is, now we can see the final product from one of our own.

Ted

Looks like you did a fine job to me!

You’re a natural armour builder!

Ah, yes…and Cranberry Hobby Depot, all owners of my money! Lucky to have 2 nice hobby shops in the neighborhood, I’ll say that. I belong to IPMS 3 Rivers…what a great group of guys! I just joined last year, but I wish I’d been in the first few years I belonged to IPMS. They are really something, and the amount of talent each of those guys possesses is incredible!! And don’t forget our annual show coming up…March 19th!!
