DML Sd.Kfz.234/1... Solve Mystery?

Guys, I have been working on DML 234/1 for the 8X8 GB and I am trying to finish up all of the detail painting and weathering inside the vehicle tonight so I can glue the hull together. There’s one piece that I am so clueless… what is it??? Hope you knows what it is and which color should I paint…

Its weird that the part is clear but there is not a window. I am sure it is not a flat screen plasma TV or something like that. HELP! Thanks again…

That;s just the frame, CMLjust includes that on the clear sprue where the rest of the periscope/hatch parts are. Just paint it the same inside color.

Karl’s almost correct. That part is a weather-window for the driver to use whenever he’s got the armored view port open but doesn’t have the armored glass block in place. It essentially allows him to see through the full port but with a glass cover while driving, very handy if you don’t want to get wet or cold while on the road! That’s why DML molded it on the clear sprue, the inside portion of it is glass while the rest of the frame would be interior color. [;)]

Thanks Doog and Bill!!! Knew I could count on you guys. I am done painting and weathering the interior so I can glue the hull together. I hope we still can see the interior even tho…
