Some may find it a bit pristine for a dio, but I love it none-the-less, for I’m a subtle weatherer anyway. Great job on the camo. Did you use Silly-putty? I still haven’t tried it, but will undoubtedly give it a shot on my Crusader someday.
BTW, how did the build itself go? Any surprises?
…now that I have it on the base it is a bit pristine…may have to address that…the build was okay, but the CH set added a LOT of interior work (PE)…used Tamiya Mmasking tape…
Normally I’m not a fan of camo, but something about that, I just love! the edges are so crisp and the colors perfect, Great job!
I really like the cammo job on this one. What paints are you using, you get a hue that I rarely see on models. Well done!!
Yes, a nice job on the camo, Manstein, but I have to say that any vehicle in that environment would have a lot more nicks, dings, and paint scratches than you’ve depicted. As a clean build though, it’s very nicely finished.[tup]
Nice to see you posting some work finally, though!
…thanks, I threw it on a dio base I was painting at the last minute and I agree that it is sorta contrasty to the environment…late war vehicles often didn’t survive long enough to get much wear and tear !!!
Good Job, I love the camo…
Tamiya acrylics on this one…
What color on the fire extinguisher? I like the contrast.
Will be a pity to dirty up that pristine and perfect camo, but it needs SOME weathering!
Beautiful work.
…thanks…I didn’t opt for the red, but just painted it in a different shade of dark yellow to give it a “contractor painted” look…does need a bit more weathering; the rubbled base makes it look a little too pristine…
…by the way, the dio base is still not completely finished, just thought it was a good background for it…
Whoa! That’s a great camo paint job on the 234/1! I see some subtle weathering Eric Von, bet it looks fantastic just sitting on a display shelf by itself! What camera and lighting technique are you using? The photos are super clear with almost no harsh shadows!
I LOVE that paint job! Weathering is another matter in itself, but you could also take as a brand new armored car.

…thanks, I used as much natural light as possible thru the dining room window…
Man, that is really really nice!
…thanks, man…I don’t think DML has gotten enough credit for their line of 8-wheelers…a lot of folks have been screaming for them for years and you hardly see any built up…
…good 'ol Tamiya Acrylics…
Agree pretty much with everyone else about the level of weathering…despite that, pretty spectacular build!
Also agree that DML’s 8-wheel line hasn’t gotten enough respect.
