DML 1/72 Jagdtiger (Porsche) Build

Banged this little pre-zimmed guy out for Espins’ Red Storm On The Reich GB - took quite a while as I had not fully regained my build motivation yet. Went together quite well, although ended up doing a bit of surgery to fit the rear hull over the included engine compartment (which you end up not being able to see at all unless you open up some hatches).

Weathering a 1/72 vehicle is a lot different than in 1/35 - a lot of techniques felt “out of scale” to me. Really like how the back end turned out - one of the few areas that has any detail. Just ‘big walls of zim’ everywhere else!

Any and all comments, criticisms, attaboys, you-sucks, and other forms of input welcome. [;)]

nice job and welcome back! That 'tiger is kickin-butt right now. Really sweet job.

Very nice Jagdtiger dupes.

What are the 1/72 Dragon kits like to build? Just wondering whether to give one a go.

POST EDITED!!!----Got nothing but good to say about it, Dupes; looks pretty nice–did you have any problems with the track fit?

Hey, thanks guys! [:D]

Doog - I think you mean DUPES, not DURR! Too many D’s, I know. [:-^]…[(-D]

This kit went together very well - nice little PE sprue for all the necessary stuff. The tracks fit very well - because they’re the DS one-piece dealies. I would have wished for some stronger (or thicker) idler wheel/drive sprocket connections though, as they bowed in pretty easily.

MMC - if you’re a 1/72 scale fan, go with the DML stuff! Muuuuch better than some of the other (read:older) kits I’ve tried. [tup]

That is a nice looking model you got there. good job on the wethering, especially the tracks [tup]

Hey Dupes, glad to see you back in action. Splendid job there. You should not have said the scale and let us guess, I’d have said 35th.

Terry

Pretty impressive for 1/72. I must admit that they do a reputable job on the zim. I wonder if they’ll give it’s bigger brother the same treatment someday?
