If you look carefully at the sprues, you’ll see the M3/M3A1 parts there too
Have they said how much it will cost and when it will be out?
This is all great news , an M3/M3A1 , thats nice .
Anymore, the Dragon kits with the goods are pushing $40 or better. Far cry from the old days.
Thats for sure !
Good old days? When you’d pay $20 for a mass of inaccurate junk?
I’m sorry but there AREN’T any days better than right now. Look inside the box of the DML Tiger I Late model (for under $30). What do you get?
No one makes us spend $30-40 on these jewel of kits. If you want to spend under $20, those kits are still available. The fact that the industry can now make extremely accurate kits, albeit more costly, is a point to lament? No way.
Good old days? No thank you.
T26 , i agree , a new issue $40 kit ( w/all the molding techniques , detail , PE, and oher extras ) is a good vallue for the price .
Shell
We all knew the $30 price of the Tigers wasn’t going to last, they were deliberately done to test the market and see what the trends were and we are seeing the fruits of that now with their release and targeting strategy in full gear. Depending on how patient you are and willing to shop around, it’s always possible to get a good deal even on the newest, latest/greatest offerings. Given the fact that the M2 is listed as a “Smart Kit” it will probably be in the $35-$40 retail range upon release like the Panther G. That’s still a far cry from the $50-$60 that Tamiya did with the Char B1 don’t forget. [;)]
After a gazillion german half-tracks, finally!!! So we have the short body M2’s Next we need the more common M3’s Then the International Havester M5/M9’s with the flat fenders and rounded corners Dare we hope??? Then - maybe - the 37mm/50 cal model Then - maybe - we can hope - the 75mm gun model US Marines? Then the 4 -50cal. Finally - some Israeli varients So many versions - so little time When can we get one!!! Mike Baker
Now all of those variants would be great . We can only wait and hope . Maybe AFV , Academy or Trumpeter will join in . Tamiya 's old M3/M16 kits are probably going to be really dated now .
Yes, it’s just that Dragon spoiled us in the beginning with the low prices, but the new tech does come with a price. I’m not complaining mind you, it’s still a bargain compared to the Tamiya kits that don’t give you as much. No T-26, I don’t wish to go back to the “old days” either and it is a pretty good time to be in the hobby.
I just resent the fact that I just finished building and painting the Tamiya offering, as this went to news. Just my luck.
I’m gonna be all over this kit like flies on [censored]
This is great news indeed!
Tom at High Sierra Models (my LHS) was kind enough to hold one off to the side for me as he remembered me talking about this kit with him several months ago. It is now safely tucked away in my stash to be built sometime early next year. [:D]
