Dissapointment from my New Hasegawa Kit Fw-190D-9 the 'the fall of the Reich Fighter 1945'

[:(]
Just to pass along the information that I have learned ( at the cost of $28.00 ) - I ordered this kit, hoping and thinking that it was one of the newer Hasa kits. What I realize now is that it is one of the “Hi-grade” series of Fw-190s that was released in the late 80’s early 90’s. This means that it lacks the biggest distinctive feature of the Dora, the open wheel wells. I’m sure that there are other errors, as most of the parts look exactly the same to the Revell-Germany Fw-190f-8 that i built not too long ago. I will say that I am pleased with all the PE, white metal and brass tubing that is included, but so far that is all that I’m happy about. I guess that I’ll have to order the engine plug kit that has been referenced elsewhere in this thread. Oh well, I was able to make a good looking 190 before so i should be able to do it again.

The one bright spot that I did receive today was the eagle parts cockpit, It Is AWSOME!!!

Hey Matt, Don’t feel to bad, I bought the Trimaster kit for almost $50. and I have to do the surgery on the wells, and purchase an engine plug as well. So you got me by 12 bucks.

Jerry

It is confusing with both the new & old tool Hasegawa kits being marketed.

After some quick research on the internet, I have found a great website that offers resin parts to correct this bad hybrid kit, as well as many others!!

I am seriously considering spending the money to get the resin conversion to a D11 and the corrected wing! Will just have to talk my wife into the cost. I have already put almost 90 dollars into this build ( kit, eagle parts cockpit, PE flaps, decals) so it might just have to wait a bit!!!
