For me i dont have a showcase display yet and forced to put my models away in cupboards so they dont get dust on them and ruin them
right now mine are all over. but i have plans for a display area soon. and that will take care of the situation.

Mine are on top of a filing cabinet and in a set of bookshelves that I have setup.
No plans at the moment for a real display case.

Mine are displayed anywhere there’s something flat. Two bookcases full, two wall mounted shelves plus the coffee table.

Here’s my main display area. Also have an angled computer desk with shelves that will soon be home to the Leopold and 1/16 T34.
Just one word of advice never put models on the same shelf as books, one time I went to take out a book the one the end fell over and smashed my P-40.

Its a stedaily growing collection and acoulpe of the models are in planned dios.
MIne are on top of the computer desk for now. With a 3 year old running amuck, got to keept hem high. Since the shelf is full each new completion requires that another one goes into dark confines of a box in the closet or home with someone else.

crushed one of my early P-51 builds 
i keep mine in a bookshelf wallpaperred with white paper :P. i rigged a little lighting system too, makes things special. it has sliding doors so its dust resistant. note resistant. the feather duster still comes out once in a while.

had some plexiglass tops made for plywood & wood trim diorama bases…ie.
mx & tdy areas, airliner hard stands & also
am using a few of the IMEX plasitc cases…
all work great and lasts a long time…
I store mine in IMEX plastic cases stacked on top of each other. Those that can’t fit in them I just display on a book shelf. My armor I keep in those smaller car plastic display cases. I have dreams of one day having a large display case, like a store’s display case or building one. Just not sure how to go about getting one, building one, or affording to do either.
Has anyone ever thought about curio cabinets? they are alot cheaper than store display cases and would look better in your home anyway. This is the route I plan on taking once I actually have something built. I do know of a friend here wanting to sell some cases but I gotta see what my budget looks like next week.
Any suggestions on how to keep my cats from breaking finsied models on my fire place mantel. I have two four legged hair balls that keep getting on the work bench an breaking tihins. Help.
Put a bunch of cat nip on the table they wont ever get on there again :> haha

All the ones I have kept are in my basement in my hobbyroom. Lined areound the foundation. I’m hoping to buit in plexiglass cases on top of the shelves. They don’t call the Midwest the “dustbowl” for nothing. It seems I can donst on Monday, and have 1/16th" of dust back on them by Thrusday.

I’ve bought several of the cheapie bookshelves from wally world. They have four shelves and you can order more shelves if needed. Eventually when I get into a house othat I own, I’ll build my own shelves. Until then the portable bookshelves works for me.
Once I found some of those clear acrylic boxes they used to make for storing shoes, clothes, etc. at a yard sale. I was delighted because the ones at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. are semitransparent and often have a blue or green tint to them.[V] And unfortunately, they don’t seem to make the really clear, transparent ones any more as I’ve looked time and again.[:(] The ones I found are large enough to hold 1/24 scale cars with room to spare and a 1/48 scale Mig-21. I place the model in the clear plastic box to keep the dust off them, the box goes on a bookcase or some other shelf and surrounded by common glass insulators from my insulator collection. A few insulators are placed on top of the box, too; they keep the cat from jumping onto the shelf or investigating the models too closely.
