Display cases?

As the subject implies, I am looking into building a display case and I was wondering what some of you may have put together in the past. I’m thinking of a floor display, with two to three shelves with mirrored access panels in the back. This is what I have in mind, but I would like to see what some of you have built, to set me in the right direction. Thanks

must consider seriously the space as you have and the solidarity of your family to pretend to make a display for models
consider the lighting of the display , that was my mistake.

wood and glass are a very good option and looks like good all the time.
you wanted to display yours finished models right?

ill post a pic of the display wher i put the models but

Look around in antique stores and stores that resell business furnishings, they have display cases (like in a jewlery store) and sometimes you can get them fairly cheap. It just takes awhile to hunt them down.

glueboy,
I must say I also considered the build it option and found I could buy the very thing I wanted retail for less than the cost of the materials.
I eventually bought mine from IKEA for less than $90.00 AUS. The glass alone was going to cost me over $40.00 AUS and then there was the wood and hinges as well as the finishing materials.
If you want to build then go for it and I wish you well but check out the high volume retail stores first.

Cheers , Pete.
