This is about two G.I.s on a jeep that accidentally wandered into enemy territory. While stopped at the end of the bridge, some Germans unfortunately ambushed them instantly killing the driver. The passenger however, although was hit and wounded, fell off jeep and pretended to be dead. When the Germans left their hiding positions, the G.I. started taking them down one by one…a case of the hunter becoming the hunted.
But there are too many…can the G.I. survive?
Note:
Jeep - Tamiya
Figures - Driver - Tamiya
Others - Dragon
Bridge - popsicle sticks
Base - Styro topped with wall putty
River - White Glue
Tree/shrubs - Wire + Scotchbrite Pad + Woodland Scenics Turf
Boo-boos:
1.) Water - I didn’t give enough time for the glue to dry before adding a new layer. This produced a cloudy water instead of clear.
2.) Gun flash - It looks primitive, really fake and funny… [:p]
3.) Trees/Shrubs - I kinda messed up the color, I guess
Sorry for the excessive violence in this Diorama.
Now get ready with the rotten eggs and tomatoes…[:o)][:D]
Um excuse me but this is WAR and there is no need for you to apologize for the description of one of our ‘good old boys’ getting some pay back on germans. LOL [:D]
The dio is great and the hits on the falling german soldier is very real. Great job. [tup]
Yes the american soldier will survive and get out. [:D]
Dwight another great job on the dio. I really love the way you do the trees and the grass and stuff. I used your method on my dios. I thank you again for sharig with us. I definitly look up at you as a person from who I can learn many new techniques. Did you do the tall grass with paint brush bristles?
I’m rooting for the GI, but I have doubts. 2 of the gerries are already done for, but it looks like the other 2 are no longer surprised. So it’s 2 on 1. One of the uninjured Germans is out in the open, but he does look ready to fire. The other German is behind a tree which is providing him with a slight measure of cover and a good amount of concielment. He’s definately ready to fire. I think the GI’s best bet is to lay down enough fire to scare the bad guys off. Does anybody have a gernade?
Great dio! It’s about time we see some combat in a dio! The wounds look very well done, although the standing German that got hit in the soldier actually looks like he got hit in the head with the way his head is thrown back. Muzzle flash is good. I wouldn’t change it. The scenery is awesome, and I like the ‘cloudy’ river. Looks like it would sometime after a summer rainstorm that may be taking place in the distance.
Dwight, you are the Master. Your work keeps motivating me to work on my diorama/photobase.
Kelly: I did some frankensteining of the parts to get that pose. I have a lot of spare body parts so I guess it was not that hard to mix and match. Od course I have to shorten or lengthen or bend some parts, too.
I havebeen working on some dio bases 3of them too be exact. If you dont mind Dwight I would like your opinion on were to go with them.Of coarse I need to get my came back first soI can post.
