MM doesn’t do the builds himself. He pays other folks to build the models that he posts on here.
Yeah Kaysee, MM is another I haven’t seen anything of in sometime.
And I have no idea how to reach PJ except though MM.
And it’s not a very good diorama. Model Maniacs modelers seemed to be under some kind of indentured servitude and who knows who they really were.

My observation, since I can’t ask “PJ”.
The box top of the Dragon set shows these troops in what appears to be a near desert landscape like those in much of the Greek Islands. Photos taken of Leros during the battle look pretty similar, although being black and white, the colors can’t be determined. And I would bet PJ never looked at one.
Dragon’s rock formations and bushes became the models sand spread over a rough base surface, Dragon’s little scrubby bushes became tufts of a single color of lichen.
In the bigger picture, slapping MM around is a waste of time, but…
Kits like the Dragon set are meant to give the modeler a set of figures in different uniforms and poses, with different equipment, in order for the builder to pick what they need for a project. They usually aren’t meant to take and stick all of them in a scene.
Having arms and legs show seams with the body is just sloppy.
And the MG mag is on backwards.
I dunno… I liked to look at the stuff MM posted. He’d buy and have built some weird off-the-wall stuff that I really liked looking at. And props to him for being honest he was having the stuff built for him. I’d be ticked off if he had it built and then claimed credit for it.
But as Bill said he just didn’t seem to care. People around here would point out errors and give him tips on how to correct them and his builders would just keep making the same rookie mistakes. After awhile you got the attitude that if MM didn’t care why should I?
As to the dio groundwork it’s a little out of focus so I can’t see it that clearly but it looks like static grass and some gravel placed on a painted plaster base.
I like using Durham Water Putty for my plaster. It’s insanely hard and tough stuff. Never had it crack and it’s hard to chip. In fact if you want anything in the putty like tank tracks make it while it’s still wet. It’s super hard to do anything with it when dry. Not sure where you live Kaysee but it is hard to find outside the US. I talked to Bish a few years ago about it and it seems you can’t get it in the UK.
Static grass you can get at a model railroad shop. And small rocks and gravel you can find in your driveway or a parking lot.
