I am wanting to do a dio and have been slowly gathering items. The idea I have is for a scene that may have been witnessed in Italy in WWII. An emplaced Panther turret as a central point of a defensive line with an observation point and possibly a machine gun emplacement with trenches connecting them. Any idea of an online source where I can find specs for German bunkers so I can scratch my own? Any ideas as to how best to go about this? This will be only my second dio.
Verlinden used to have a number of bunker/trench bases in their line. I don’t know if their still in production.
Heh! Fine Scale Modeler special issue ‘Essential Techniques for the Model Builder’ has a article on scratch building the Pantherturm emplacement. Page 72. The issue was on display untill August 2009. You probally can order one on the home page here.
