Does anybody know what the difference between DML’s NATO MLRS (No. 3522) and the US version (No. 3523) is?
I’ve built the US version version before and saw that the NATO version was usually cheaper. My guess is that the NATO version doesn’t have the rocket pods with the kit, but that’s just my guess.
You got it, NATO does not include rocket pods, that is the only differance.
Are you talking about the reload pods or the rockets on the MLRS itself are not there? Just trying to clear this up in my own mind.
Heavy Arty is right I just got the US version at a model show and it includes the pods but the Nato does not , just repeating what he said
Thanks guys for the fast replies!
Does the NATO version have something to cover up the otherwise empty launcher positions?
jessiahkinnamon; If you want any assembly tips on your launcher I could give you a hand! I’ve built five of the US versions in the last year and have many up close pics of the real thing sitting in the motor pool, in the field, and firing!
The NATO version has the pod end covers that go into the LLM where the pods would normally go. They look like they are loaded, but only the end caps are present. The only downfall is that if you put it up in firing position, there is a gaping hole up in the LLM where the rocket pods should be.
thanks Targetdriver, I might call on you when I start building mine , but thats pretty far down on my to build list, Ive got Five different Abrams kits just waiting to be built.
Hmm, I was wondering this myself, as I saw the kit a little while ago, but the guy selling them couldn’t tell me anything, and wouldn’t let me open the boxes. US version it is then [:)]
