Did Corsair II carrie a paweway bomb?

The kit came with this bomb but the instructions don’t say to instal it. It looks quite bada$$ so I am thinking about puting it on. Is this realistic or did this bomb came after the Corsair II was removed from service?

According to Wiki, it did. I found these two; one is China Lake, not sure what unit is the other one.

Hello!

The first Paveways were introduced around 1970, so that’s no problem. Question is: how to laser-tag the target for them Paveways? Either the aircraft has to have a target designator built in or underslung, or somebody on the ground has to do it.

Hope it helps, have a nice day

I think they were certified to carry laser-guided GBUs, but didn’t do so in combat. Air Force A-7Ds carried PAVE Penny pods which could detect laser designators, but AFAIK, it was only used to get the pilot onto the correct target. The aircraft itself still generally carried unguided munitions. Not sure about Navy A-7s, but Air Force A-7s were masters at pop-up bombing, which wouldn’t have worked well with LGBs. A-7Ds could sneak up on a target in the weeds, pop up, hit it, and get out fast in the weeds, like no other aircraft at the time. It was amazing to watch.
