Tamiya’s 1/48 scale built mostly OOB. I scratched a few bits (brake lines, seatbelts ect…) but nothing major. For my first start to finish build in a few years, I’m quite pleased. Comments and critiques welcome and appreciated. 
Very well done. Those decals look painted on…unless they “are” painted on. Thanks for sharing

Very nice work. Those seatbelts look amazing in the pit. Nice camo work as well. This looks to be a real gem of a kit.

Thank you for the kind words gentleman and no, I didn’t paint the markings. They are the kit decals and I was surprised they turned out pretty nice since tamiya decals usually leave a lot to be desired. Thanks again for looking.

How did you do the cammo and how did you get the decals to look painted on? Did you go the the normal gloss clear then decal then flat for the decals?

Thanks for your interest B-17 Guy. I used tamiya red-brown lightened with white to free hand the mottled camo with my ab. After a few coats of Future had dried I applied the decals. I used several applications of solvaset and gently but firmly patted them down with q-tips. I’ll spend a few hours doing this, patting them down and applying more solvaset every 20 or 30 min. I also run a new #11 blade down the panel lines to help set the decals in them. After all this dried for a few days, it got a few more coats of Future. All this was over-sprayed with a highly thinned version of the top base coat to blend and fade the decals. Its then finished off with normal weathering. Here’s a few more picks. Cheers.
