I was using my Eduard photo etch set for my sherman tank today. I was making those cages that go over the hatches on the tank and one of them broke. So now i have 2 with cages and one with out. I was wondering if these cages were used on all shermans so i could get away with takign them off. I am modeling a sherman that was in the battle of hte bulge if that helps. Thanks in advance.
just bend it or try and get parts of it on you model
it could look like combat damage or bad driving[:D]
First of all, I assume that you are refering to the brush guards over the periscopes.
If so, it depends on which variant of Sherman you are modelling as to whether or not they become optional. If you are building the M4A3, yes you would need them. But if you are building an M4, then not necessarily.
If you’re building the M4A3, follow Jon’s advice and incorporate a little battle damage to make up for the broken piece.
[#ditto] He da Sherman man (cant you tell)
Battle damage always jumps a model up a level , so I would definatly do that , even excavating equipt never stays in mint shape for long , add the exsplosive factor in there and you have one seriously beat up vehicle … so go forth my brother and beat up that warhorse ![:D]
Thanks for the ideas, would a later prduction sheman that would ahve fought in the battle of the bulge have them also?
Once again … which variant M4, M4A1, M4A3 ???
just ask shermanfreak
