Hi all,
I’ve been making car models since I was a little kid(eons ago) and now that I have moved into the military modeling I’ve come to appreciate the fine detailing, customizing and everything that goes with that. I was on a site looking for decals for tires (tire brand names) and I found a butt load of other detailing items. There was ignition wiring, flocking, battery cables, coolant hoses, speaker grills, license plate frames, radio faces and tons more stuff.
Well, what I wanted to know is, how can I go about finding out how to use this stuff in my models? I’d love to use most, if not all of these things on future car models I will be making. Any information, web sites, books or anything you can point me to, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Generally these detail kits come with instructions or a site to go to .I googled p/e chain assy to find out how to assemble a Hiroboy p/e motorcycle chain. Remember there is little that is ‘new’ and info is readily available here or on other forums.
Okay thank you for the info. I was just kind of hoping there was some place I could check out to see how the things were done. Can you tell me, is the flocking used to make the carpeting in the car’s? Or is it used for the material on the car seats? I’ve never seen flocking before, lol, so I’m not exactly sure what you would use it for. Thanks again for the info. [:D]

Kalmbach (FSMs publisher) has several automotive modeling books that may be of interest.
There is also Scale Auto Magazine and Model Car Magazine which frequently publish articles on techniques, both have a forum as well.
