Detail Solder where do you get it?

I recently ran out of very fine detail solder and haven’t been able to replace my supply. I primarily use .008", .010" and .013" dia. solder. Does anyone have any idea where I might find solder that thin? Radio Shack has some but not that small. I’ve also checked online hobby shops but as yet have had no luck. Nor is there any mention of such a supplier in FSM.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Tim

This is a WAG but go to missionmodels.com, squadron.com or modelmecca.com. I have bought tools from those sites in the past. Hopefully they can help you find the solder wire you need. One other suggestion, if you are near a Hobbytown U.S.A store, they also carry detail solder.

I guess it depends on the Radio Schack. I just picked up some .010" last week. Did you ask them about ordering it for you ?

Thanks,

I’ll try those places suggested. I did not try ordering it from Radio Shack. I’ll have a look at them too.

See if you can find an electronics supply house either locally or on the net. Problem is you usually have to buy a minimum of a 1 lb roll per size which gets expensive real quick. But a 1 lb roll of .020 or smaller will probably last you 15 years at a minimum
