After I sand the seams putty the seams and resand I lose some details lines around the seam area whats the easist way to get them back.
also I was going to use the decal blackout for the cockpit windows, Do I need to sand the window details off first, or just apply the decal over the excisting window. thanks.
be careful when sanding… as you figured you will lose detail when done carelessly. try using tamiya putty, when dry (30 min. minimum) use acetone to remove the excess putty. this eliminates/lessens the need to sand. just use fine grit sandpaper and do it slowly. As for bringing the detail back, if the lines are recessed then you’ll need a scriber or Xacto blade to RE-scribe the lines. if the detail you lost is “raised” then you might try scratchbuilding the lost detail.
Do not sand off window details! you will get a fine mess this i guarantee. just place the decals over the existing window and use a Decal setting Agent like Micro-set or Mr.Mark setter. just brush it on and the decal will snuggle into place.
