I’ve started on the decals. I wasn’t 100% happy with the painted roundels, so they have been covered with the kit decals.
Looking great!
Troy, the stand you are using for your Meteor, where did it come from? The stand looks like the stands that came in old Revell kits back in the 1950s. I have been trying to devise a stand for the 1/48 MENG F-35A I am building and I’d like something similar to the stand you are using but maybe a little larger. I also have a 1/48 Monogram F9F and a Revell 1/48 F-84 Thunderstreak I’d like to pose in flight so they will need similar stands. Just curious as to where you were able to find the stand. Thanks.
Thanks. I got the stands from Mobius Models a few years back. I’m currently after some more. They’re the same that come with their Battlestar Galactica vipers.
Looks like a very good copy of the Aurora stand, the Revell stand base was round.
I got the stands from Club Moebius. http://www.clubmoebius.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=44
Another weekend and a lot more progress. I can see the finish line. Decals on both Meteors are done. They took most of the weekend, and it felt great to spend some quality time at the bench. With the decals done. I then got back into painting and assembling the rockets for Meatbox 2, adding the remaining antennas and probes on both and painting up the panel rack and second engine stand. Both planes are now ready for a clear coat to seal the decals and apply the finishing touches such as washing, weathering and removing the masks.
One heck of an impressive project!
All done. I’ll take some photos when I have some space cleared and the time. Thanks for following.
Bookmarked the page. Thanks. I’m going to order a couple of the stands.
I just wanted to share these with you, Troy. I was at AirVenture last week. This year’s theme was early jets. This Meteor was on the warbird flightline.
Fine looking builds! I’ve enjoyed looking at your work Troy.
What’s next?
Thanks guys.
Mike, I started this yesterday.

It appears that the fellow at Mobius Models only accepts checks or money orders. Is this how you bought your display stands? If so, it must have taken months to get them delivered to yor home down under.
As I am a member of Club Moebius and has ordered before, I was able to pay via paypal, but I did find that the option to pay via that did disapear a few times whilst trying to sort it out.
very frustrating. Also frustrating was the fact they won’t ship outside the US via their form either, so I had to ship to a mate in the US first.
Lastly, I had earlier sent via the moebius page it’s self an email asking to buy some where they then quoted me US$5 per stand plus $25 shipping!
thankfully I had already re-found the Club Moebius page and the better prices there.
It took a while to find an email address. I did find a contact and emailed them to find out how to use debit/credit to buy some stands. I think it’s pretty much a one-man operation. Actually, Mobius is only about 60 miles north of my place here in FL. I could drive up there and save the postage if there was a store front.
