DESKTOP ZERO model

HI I am new to the site.

I recently received a kit called “DESKTOP ZERO” as a gift from Japan…

It is different from any model I have build before, they look very expansive too.

All the parts are metal. Have anyone have any experience with it?

All the kits I have built before are plastic… I am a little scare to start.

Thanks for any help.

Hi JL!

Are you talking about this model?

If so, all I can say is “good luck!!!” If it’s the same one, it looks like the pure definition of a challenge. It also looks like, if you can get it done, you’ll have one amazing model and conversation piece. All I can say is just do a little bit at a time. It’s easier to eat a huge sandwich one little bite at a time rather than trying to eat it all in one bite.

I haven’t had any experience with anything like this before (unless you count balsa models) but I hope you keep us posted if you decide to tackle this kit.

Best wishes!

Eric

Wow, that would be some project!

yes, looks like it.

The box has DESKTOP ZERO written on top, no pictures.

But the parts looks like it.

The instruction is about 50 pages, and all in Japanese.

scary looking…

UMM NO! Lol…there is no way I could deal with that. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing it. .

I love how the description says assembly is easy yet it says skill level 5 at the bottom.

Who ever gave you that must really like you as its not a cheap kit.

Wow, that’s a challenging kit. Did you get a complete kit, or a subscription kit that comes in monthly installments?

Complete kit. Still in box…

If you build it, could you make scans of the kit parts, especially the fuselage formers? I’m researching the zero to build a big project.
