Is there a way to take a part and create a mold from the part or scan it somehow to get it into some sort of design software. Then scale the part up in the software to have it produced in a larger size?
I need a boost protective cover for a 1/48 Apollo kit but the only ones I can find that anyone has made are 1/96. I’m thinking the final part would best be produced by vac-u-forming to create a thin part.

I seem to recall someone doing something similar in an older (2 - 3 yrs ago) issue of FSM. He went to a company that has a 3D printer, downloaded some free software, designed a fuel cart for a diorama, and ordered it from the company. Cost him about $35 for the first part (size doesn’t matter), $7 for every addition part, but the software was free. If only I could find that issue for you…hope this helps.
Thanks for the response. I was looking for an easy way to do this as I have no experience with vac-u-forming or resin casting, which I have no experience with and suspect would be required to pull this off.
Guess I’ll pick a book up. I think I could make a rubber mold of the capsule and from that, a plaster mold to create a vac-u-formed shape over. Add a little stock styrene and I could probably come up with a passable boost protective cover.
