Dermagraphic design tech who loves models

Ok guys, yes I’m a dermagraphic design technician or as regular people say, tattoo artist, hey if the trash man can be a sanitation engineer then I can be this… If you cant tell I’m a bit different to say the least but like you have a love of models and anything art-ish… I started as a kid who thought shelves full of models were cool and as a teen, I went nuts seeing a friends ceiling full of planes then gave up for a while till I found out I was gonna be a daddy and he was gonna have shelves full of models… at some point I slowed down and when I got into poking people’s skin for money I went full bore and had no time for hobbies… after 10 or 15 years of tattooing I got into another love gaming which I did as a kid as well, not video games but board, RPG, miniature war games etc etc… But games workshop miniatures were modeling and painting and conversions all wrapped up in a very small package… now that I’m pushing 50 and have grandkids its time to take all these years of trains planes and warriors and give them the coolest bedroom of any of their buddies and Ive gathers kits over the years just never had the time to do them… well with the covid lock-down and forced free time I dug out some of my model kits… I’d show you pics but I havnt figured out how to put pics in here yet so here is a link

ok those are just some of my more recent ones, I wish I had pics of my train board. It was made for me by my great grandfather when I was little and I rehabbed it and made it modern. Like his mountains was just paper mache where I poured hydrocal rock cliffs from molds he spray painted his green I stained mine in earth tones and had bushes and shrubs in between them… he painted the large areas green for the grass I used flock and static grass… I even went so far as to paint all the railroad ties brown with black washes and dry brush layers up to white… needless to say he spent cpl hours decorating mine I spent HUNDREDS of hours (just to have a cat decide to use it as a scratching post grrrrrrrr)…

anyway yes, I am a modeler and enjoy it very much. I found this site because I had questions and needed help which is on another post here… hope to interact with you guys and learn and share my trip… have a great day and hope to meet some of ya…

I’m not sure of my favorite genre, big fantasy guy and sci-fi as a sec… but I’m into so much diff stuff, I’ll try most stuff at least once… I’ve been wanting to try building a doll house for a few years now, not sure why just something that came up one day… some days car models sound cool then I’ll see a neat plane then, then, then lol

Welcome to the forum, BT2! Nice to see another figure painter join our ranks.

Best regards,

Brad

Well;

A Dermagraphic Engineer you say? Is that a cousin of Maritime Design and Engineering in any way? I have always admired the artists who practice your trade. It does take real skill and demands on one’s talent. Now, you’re into models BRAVO! and Welcome. TankerBuilder

Sounds like me…ohhh shiny…[:O] so my stash is all over the spectrum. Can honestly say figs and Gundam aren’t my thing but when done well they are AMAZING. Wings, wheels, tracks, or rotors…and I can’t forget my want to build a fleet of surface warships in 350th. Haven’ started them yet.
